SHARWIL BELL
OF RHODES COLLEGE, a senior guard
from Memphis, Tenn., has been named SCAC Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, December 19 through
Monday, January 2.
Bell had a huge week as Rhodes went 2-1 including
a perfect 2-0 record in the Coaches vs Classic Tournament in
Montgomery, AL and improved to 7-4 on the season. In the Lynx 70-68
win against Meredith, Bell hit the game winning
jump shot with 1.3 seconds to play. Bell led all
scorers in the win with 25 points, grabbed six rebounds and had a
game high five steals. In the Lynx 52-49 win over Rust,
Bell scored a game high 16 points and hit
consecutive jump shots in the last four minutes to give Rhodes the
lead for good. Despite a tough loss to Millsaps
Bell still posted 19 points and six rebounds.
For the week Bell averaged 20 points, six
rebounds, 2.3 steals and one assist per contest.
