ANTHONY (AC)
COX OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior
guard for the men's basketball team, has been selected the SCAC
Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the
week ending November 29, 2009.
A native of Flower Mound, Texas, and captain of the team,
Cox led the Pirates in both assists and steals
last season while averaging 10.0 points per game.
Cox was as dynamic off the floor as well, serving
as a SIRA Supervisor on campus as well as a mentor at a local
school.
He served as emcee for the school's homecoming celebration which
honored the first African-American graduate. Cox
was selected as the Kassen award winner for 2008-2009 academic year
- which is the award given to the top male athlete at
Southwestern.
