SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Top-seeded Trinity University and
third-seeded Schreiner University will meet for the 2014 SCAC
Women's Tennis Championship Sunday morning on the campus of

In Saturday's first semifinal, Trinity made relatively quick work
of Colorado College, 5-0. The TU Tigers earned all three doubles
points and then got the match-clinching point from Gabrielle Roe at
No. 4 singles to advance to Sunday morning's SCAC title match. The
Tigers will be seeking their third straight SCAC title and the

In Saturday afternoon's second semifinal, the third-seeded Schreiner University women pulled off the seed upset with a 5-2 win over second-seeded Southwestern University. Less than two weeks ago, the Mountaineers dropped a 5-4 victory to the Pirates in Georgetown, but Saturday Schreiner jumped out to a quick 2-1 lead in doubles and never looked back. Schreiner University 5, Southwestern University 2
The Austin College women advanced in consolation play with a 6-1
victory over Centenary College. The 'Roos earned all three doubles
points and only lost one game in singles play due to the AC's
Aardra Venkatachalam retiring due to injury.
Austin College 5, Texas Lutheran University 3
SCAC championship play concludes on Sunday with the championship match between Trinity and Schreiner and the third-place match between Colorado College and Southwestern. Both matches are scheduled for an 8 a.m. CT start.
