SCAC places two in top 10 as DePauw's Reich finishes fourth; Trinity's Masse eighth at Nationals

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Led by Lauren Reich's fourth-place finish, DePauw University placed 20th at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships Saturday morning at the Highland Park Golf Course. Team Results | Individual Results

The Indiana Tigers totaled 469 points, while Wisconsin-Eau Claire won the team title with 171 points. Rhodes College finished in 26th place with 539 points.

Reich earned her second consecutive all-America honor with her fourth-place showing in 21:50.50.

Trinity University junior Caitlin Masse finished in eighth place individually, also earning All-America honors in the process.

Masse (pictured left) finished with a time of 22:21.70 at the 6k national event to become the second-ever Trinity cross country runner to be named an All-American. It marked the best-ever finish by a Trinity cross country runner, male or female, in NCAA competition, besting last year's 17th-place run by 2008 All-American Emily Loeffler.

As for other DePauw finishers, Ellen Mail was 128th in 23:49.60, followed by Claire Hollis in 131st in 23:51.20 and Jess Macy in 138th in 23:53.50. Melissa Buckley placed 245th in 25:17.40, while Kelsey Moore was 253rd in 25:24.40 and Julie Southworth finished 271st in 26:03.80.

Senior Cybil Covic led the Rhodes team with a 60th-place individual finish in a time of 23:14.60. Sophomore Taylor Stephens was next for the Lynx, finishing 130th with a time of 23:51.20.

Other Rhodes runners included senior Melissa Defabrizio who finished with 168th in a time of 24:12.50, junior Kelsey Dudziak was 192nd in a time of 24:28.10 and junior Anna Johnson finished 197th with a time of 24:30.60. First-year runner Maddie Harrigan finished 240th with a time of 25:13.50 and teammate and junior Marianne Kirk was 275th in a time of 26:15.90.

Hendrix College's sophomore Lolly Plummer came in 243rd with a time of 25:14.60.
