KATE MITCHELL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior outside hitter from Roseville, Calif. has been named SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Friday, October 13 through Saturday October 14.
Mitchell led the Pirates averaging nearly 3.5 kills per set with a .382 attack percentage.
Mitchell tallied 10 service aces and six blocks on the weekend.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore outside hitter Brooke Harris of Austin College posted a .477 hitting percentage on the weekend. Freshman outside hitter Hannah Mikelonis of Texas Lutheran University tallied 11 kills and nine digs in a four-set loss to No. 3 Trinity. Senior outside hitter Kirby Smith of Trinity University posted three double-doubles in the Tigers' four matches on the weekend, averaging a .374 hitting percentage. Junior middle hitter Myca Steffey-Bean of Colorado College set a new career-best hitting percentage in a single match at .727 in the 'Roos game against Centenary.
