LIZZY COUNTS OF COLORADO COLLEGE a sophomore setter from Oakland, Calif. has been named SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Saturday, September 30th through Sunday, October 1st.
The Tigers overcame a 10-5 deficit in the fifth set against Southwestern when Counts set seven consecutive kills to give Colorado the lead.
Counts hit .722 with 13 kills on 18 attacks without a single error on the week.
Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Senior outside hitter Dani DeWitt of Austin College averaged 2.32 kills per set in the 'Roos five matches over the week. Sophomore middle blocker Lindsey Lubianksi of Trinity University tied the SCAC record for single-match hitting percentage at .882 on 15 kills and 17 attempts in the game against Dallas. Freshman outside hitter Hannah Mikelonis of Texas Lutheran University had 15 and 13 kills in matches against Dallas and Austin College, respectively. Senior outside hitter Kate Mitchell of Southwestern University posted three kills per set and totaled six aces in the Pirates' five matches on the week.
