JACQUELYN BROWN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior outfielder from Vidor, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Softball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, April 5th.

Brown was terrific this past weekend as the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs improved to 16-0 in SCAC play with a four game sweep over the University of Dallas. The Bulldogs continue to improve their school record in consecutive wins which now sits at 23. 

Brown went 7-for-10 (.700) with a double and five RBI to go along with three runs scored as well as three stolen bases. She had at least one hit in all four games this past weekend.

Brown began the series going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolent base. Her biggest mark came in the second game, where she finished 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. She added two RBI the following day to go along with a double in game three. 

For the season, Brown is hitting .441 with 12 RBI and 19 runs scored to go along with three doubles, a triple, and a .565 slugging percentage. She is third in the SCAC in stolen bases with 15 on the season.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman shortstop Raquel Vara of Austin College had an outstanding weekend at the plate to help the 'Roos go 2-2 against Southwestern, batting .417 with two doubles, two RBI, and three stolen bases while also scoring two runs. Vara had a .500 on base percentage and a .583 slugging percentage. Junior outfielder Jordan Kunz of Southwestern posted a .500 batting average, going 3-6 form the plate with 3 RBI in two wins over the weekend. Senior first baseman Lauren Mercado of Trinity hit .435 (10-23) during the busy week, scoring six runs and driving in four more. She also hit four doubles and a home run during the week, throwing up a .739 slugging percentage. Mercado hit .533 (8-15) during the SCAC series against Schreiner, scoring five runs to go with three RBI. Centenary, Dallas, and Schreiner did not nominate anyone.
