BROOKE SANCHEZ OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior shortstop from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Softball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 12 through Sunday, February 17.

Sanchez opened the season with a .429 batting average for the Tigers, leading the team to a 2-2 record to start the year.

Sanchez went 6-for-14 in the four games, leading the team in hitting. She also picked up a pair of stolen bases and scored four runs to pace the Tiger offensive attack.

Last season, Sanchez hit .266 (29-109) for the Tigers, starting in all 42 of the team’s games. She scored 25 runs and was 7-9 on the base paths to finish third on the team in steals.
