BEN MATTHEWS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Houston, Texas has been selected the SCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Saturday, October 10th.
Matthews returned from injury to lead the Tiger team at the UIW meet. He covered the 7600m course in 26:36, which is roughly 36 seconds faster than he ran at the same distance at the Chile Pepper Meet just a week prior.
Matthews and the Tigers will run at Pre-Nationals in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on October 17th.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore runner Abraham Devenport of Southwestern University posted a personal best with an 8K time of 28:15.6 at the UIW Invitational.
