JACOB HAMMOND OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Saturday, September 12th.
Hammond finished 5th overall in a time of 27:00, third on the team behind a senior and junior. He ran a personal best time by nearly a minute, helping lead the pack of our top three freshman throughout the race.
The Tigers next meet is on September 25th at the TAMUCC Islander Splash in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Abraham Devenport of Southwestern University led the Southwestern men's cross country team to the finish line for the second consecutive race, as the sophomore placed 26th overall at the Our Lady of the Lake Invitational this past Saturday at Windcrest Golf Club. Davenport turned in a time of 29:23 on the 8k course.
