JASON CRAWFORD OF LYON COLLEGE, a sophomore defensive back from Maumelle, Ark., has been named the SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, November 1st. SCAC Football Release (Week 9)

Crawford was the leading tackler for the Scots with 10 total tackles in a 40-28 win at Austin College. Crawford notched three solo and seven assisted while he also recorded an assist on a tackle for loss for one yard. The sophomore becomes the first Lyon athlete to earn SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week and the second to earn a player of the week honor following Jaylin Babers from 2024. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior defensive back Jayvian Coulter of Hendrix led the Warriors defensively with 8 tackles in their 64-10 win over Centenary. The senior recorded five solo tackles and also forced one of four Centenary fumbles on the night. Sophomore linebacker Bryce Neves of McMurry totaled eight tackles including seven solo stops against Texas Lutheran. Neves also recorded a sack and one pass breakup. Junior defensive back Troy Tomaselli of Texas Lutheran posted four tackles for the Bulldogs including 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He also had an interception returned for 10 yards in the Bulldogs' 42-13 win over McMurry.
