BUTLER OF SEWANEE-THE UNIVERSITY OF THE
SOUTH, a two-time All-SCAC selection and
co-captain of the Tigers' women's soccer team,
has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female
Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending October 25,
2009.
Butler, a junior midfielder/defender who hails
from Chattanooga, Tenn., volunteers her time as an EMT-IV with the
Sewanee EMS, which is the only volunteer EMS service in the state
of Tennessee.
She leads outdoor adventure trips with the Sewanee Outing Program
and is also a member of the Society of Sewanee Scholars.
Butler, who has been selected to study abroad next
semester, also tutors young people on campus.
