Libby Feaster, Rhodes College, Field Hockey

LIBBY FEASTER OF RHODES COLLEGE, a junior from Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending September 20, 2009.

Feaster, who according to Rhodes head coach Jane Wells "played a fantastic game" in Saturday's 5-4 come-from-behind win over Bellarmine, is an outside midfielder on the women's field hockey team.

In addition to her prowess on the field, Feaster is in her third year working with the Our Children Our Future Program in collaboration with Memphis City Schools off the field.

Feaster participated in the program as a freshman and is starting her second year as the site coordinator at Cypress Middle School. She serves as the link between the student tutors, the middle school site coordinator and the Memphis City Schools program director.

In addition to this important role, Feaster tutors as a part of the program and helps train new tutors through workshops at Rhodes. She is also a regular participant and leader in Reformed University Fellowship.

A Second Team All Region selection in 2008, Feaster is a Business and Economics major and maintains a 3.86 GPA.
