DERRY ROBERSON
OF SEWANEE: THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH has
been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female
Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending April 4, 2010.
Roberson, a senior from San Ignacio, Belize,
is a member of the Tigers' women's tennis team that
is currently ranked 27th in the nation.
Roberson is a member of both the
Physics and Spanish honor societies at Sewanee and is a Stephen
Puckette Award winner. She is also a Head Arcadian on campus,
which involves serving as an admissions tour guide for potential
incoming students.
Off campus, Roberson volunteers for the local
charity Big People for Little People and also serves as a
volunteer at Sewanee Elementary where she teaches Spanish.
Away from the Mountain, Roberson did an
internship in Quintana Roo, Mexico with an architect and has also
studied abroad in Chili.
