MADELINE MCKAY OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior outside hitter from Lubbock, Texas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 8th to Sunday, October 14th. 

McKay led 10th-ranked Trinity to a pair of SCAC victories over the weekend, defeating both Schreiner and Texas Lutheran to remain atop the conference table. She hit .400 and averaged 4.0 kills/set over the two wins, both of which are well above her season averages of 3.36 kills/set and a .308 hitting percentage.

McKay led the team in kills over the weekend and also leads the SCAC in hitting percentage for non-middles this season.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior middle hitter Myca Steffey-Bean of Colorado College hit a team-high .400 to help lead the Tigers to three crossover victories last week. She hit .545 in the sweep of Southwestern and .643 in the three-set win over Centenary, which was the fourth time she hit .600 or higher in a match this season. Senior outside hitter Jamison Duck of Southwestern had 40 kills and averaged 3.08 kills per set as the Pirates went 3-1 at the B-C Crossover #2 at Colorado College. She also had 47 digs, seven service aces and five blocks. Senior outside hitter Mayson Kennon of Austin College led the 'Roos with 2.88 kills-per-set as the team went 2-2 in conference play. She totaled 49 kills in four matches, adding 2.53 digs-per-set, four service aces, and six total blocks. Sophomore setter Kelly Jurden of Texas Lutheran was excellent from her setter position in this week's contests as the Bulldogs went 1-1 on the weekend. Jurden averaged 10.33 assists per set and aso added 20 digs, two service ace and two blocks. Freshman setter/right side Rachel Demerjian of Centenary had a great weekend with two more double-doubles and more than 10 assists per set. Against Johnson & Wales, she set the Centenary NCAA Division III record for assists in a match (55) and also easily set a career match high with 25 digs.
