LAURA GOLDSMITH OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior libero from Pacific Palisades, Calif., has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, August 27 through Sunday, September 2.

Goldsmith played in all 15 sets for Colorado College to help the Tigers to a 3-1 record at the Pacific Coast Classic to open the season. She led the team defensively with 87 digs (5.8/set) over four matches to average 21.8 digs a game while also tallying 10 kills, four assists and three aces during the tournament.

Goldsmith had 13 digs and four kills in her first game of the season against No. 6 California Lutheran and picked up a team-high 32 digs for a season high in a 3-2 win over La Verne, and also tallied six kills and two service aces to finish the first day of the tournament.
