ALYSSA WARLING OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a freshman from Lovelano, Colo., has been named the SCAC Track Co-Athlete of the Week for meets held Monday, March 28th through Sunday April 3rd.
Warling ran a conference-best 18:35.48 5k at the CSU-Pueblo Track meet on April 2nd. Adjusted for altitude, the time puts her below 18:10 for the 5k.
Running against Division I and II competition, Warling earned the top spot for the first time in her collegiate career.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Katie Groke of Trinity University took second in the 400 hurdles, and 7th in the 100h at the Trinity Invitational with times of 1:06.12 and 16.72. She currently leads the SCAC in the 400h, and is fourth in the 100h.
