KRISTEN LYE OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior forward from San Antonio, Texas has been named the SCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, January 29th.
Lye helped the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week with wins over Austin College and Centenary College keeping TLU atop the conference standings with just five games remaining.
In the two games, Lye averaged 17.0 points per game on 61.5% shooting. She also grabbed 10.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Lye played just 24 minutes against Centenary, but connected on 10-of-13 shots to finish with 22 points. In the game against the 'Roos, Lye pulled down 15 rebounds, tying a season-high.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore forward Bryce Frank of Austin College averaged a double-double over the weekend with 15.5 points and 11.5 rebounds as the 'Roos went 1-1. Senior guard Sabriyyah Fennell of Schreiner University helped lead the Mountaineers to a 2-0 SCAC weekend with 11.5 points and four rebounds per game. Freshman Center Cecily Woolfolk of Southwestern University averaged 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Pirates. Junior forward Micah Weaver of Trinity University led No. 16 Trinity to a pair of lopsided victories, scoring 15.5 points and grabbing 6.0 rebounds in just 17.0 minutes per game.
