JANA TUCKER OF
TRINITY UNIVERSITY, sophomore post
from Katy, Texas, has been named SCAC Basketball Player-of-the-Week
for games played Monday, December 6 through Sunday, December
12.
Tucker led Trinity to a 71-62 win at the
University of Dallas on Tuesday, snapping the team’s
five-game losing streak.
Tucker scored her first double-double of the
season, doing so with 13 points and an impressive 19 rebounds. The
19 boards ties her for 10th in Trinity history for a single game.
She hit 4-9 from the field and 4-5 from the foul line, and also
swiped three steals in her 33 minutes off the bench.
Even more impressive was Tucker’s second
half: She scored all 13 of her points in the final 20 minutes, and
grabbed 12 of her 19 rebounds in the second period.
For the season, Tucker is third on the team with
8.6 points/game, but leads the Tigers with 8.0 rebounds/game. She
is hitting 31.7% (20-63) from the field this year, and is also tied
for third on the team with 13 total steals.
