Trinity Women Sit at No. 25 in Latest D3hoops.com Polls

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Trinity University women's basketball team checked in at No. 25 in the first week of the D3hoops.com Top 25 Polls on Monday evening.

The Tigers, who were ranked 19th in the Preseason Polls, started their 2013-14 campaign with a 3-1 record including wins over Morivan, Hardin-Simmons, and Wayland Baptist.

Trinity began the season with a 69-50 win over Moravian on Friday night, despite shooting 33.8% from the field in the game. Trinity followed that with an 84-62 win over Hardin-Simmons, and the offense improved to nearly 50% shooting in the second game as sophomore forward/center Anecia Richardson earned SCAC Player of the Week for her efforts on the weekend. 

The Tigers exploded for 91 points in last Tuesday's win over Wayland Baptist, scoring a season-high in points, and taking a 13-point victory.  Trinity then suffered its first loss of the season with a 78-62 defeat at the hands of UT-Dallas.

Trinity already started this week off with a bang, defeating Division II Angelo State 73-60.  The Tigers will now host the Trinity Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday and Sunday, November 30-December 1.  Trinity hosts Southern Arkansas University, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Southwestern University in the two-day event.  The Tigers play both games at 4:00 p.m., facing Southern Arkansas on Saturday, and then taking on UMHB on Sunday.
