KAYMEE GOODEN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN, a junior outfielder from Mart, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played Monday, March 28th through Sunday, April 3rd.
Gooden hit .556 overall and .692 in four SCAC games last week. She drove in nine runs in a doubleheader sweep of Southwestern on Friday. In those two games, she went 6-for-6 with two home runs and nine RBI.
For the week, she posted a slugging percentage of 1.000. In conference play alone, she slugged 1.231 and had an on-base percentage of .714. Gooden also stole four bases.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman pitcher Kat Wright of Austin College had a strong weekend at the plate, batting .538 with a .923 slugging percentage in four games. Senior infielder Stacy Rosengren of Southwestern posted a .417 series batting average against the #3 team in the nation, TLU, with one double and one triple. Freshman outfielder Marisa Trevino of Trinity hit .667 (4-6) in the two games, picking up three runs and one RBI for the Tigers. Junior outfielder Allison Kotlar of Dallas posted a hit in all four games this past weekend series at Austin College.
