MAX GERKEN OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Castle Rock, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men's Track Athlete-of-the-Week for meets conducted through Sunday, March 25.
Gerken had an impressive start to his season at the Fort Hays ?Alex Francis Distance Classic? this past Friday.
In a predominately Division II & NAIA meet, he dominated the men?s 3000-meter steeplechase field placing first with a final time of 9:26.64. This was a personal best by over 10 seconds and currently ranks Gerken first on the SCAC performance list and third overall in Division III.
