ROBERT MALONE OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a freshman from Littleton, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, October 20th through Sunday, October 25th.
Malone recorded his second hat trick of the season to power Colorado College to a 4-0 victory at Austin College. Malone struck for the only goal CC needed in the 11th minute, taking a backward pass from senior midfielder Max Grossenbacher and drilling a shot past goalkeeper Michael Moran. It was his second game winner of the season, tying him for the team lead. He also is tied with Max Grossenbacher for first on the team with seven goals and he is second with 18 points.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Christian Sakshaug of Trinity University buried a goal in each game this weekend, including a crucial insurance goal in a 2-0 win over Southwestern on Sunday.
