Travis Carmichael, Southwestern University, Men's Soccer - Defensive Player of the Week (Week 4)
TRAVIS CARMICHAEL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore goalkeeper from Kerens, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, Septemerber 15th through Sunday, Septemeber 21st. 

Carmichael led the Southwestern Pirates to their first two wins of the season, both coming in conference play, as he secured a pair of shutouts.

Carmichael started teh weekend with a 1-0 win over the University of Dallas, picking up three saves in the match. Two days later, it was another three save performance for Carmichael, this time getting the victory over Austin College, 3-0.

For the season, Carmichael has 34 saves, which is second in the conference, and his first two wins of the 2014 season.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore goalkeeper P.J. Hasson of Dallas managed 90 minutes in the net. In a 1-0 decision against Southwestern, the sophomore didn't allow a goal and picked up two saves. Junior goalkeeper Jonathan Michael of Texas Lutheran tallied his conference-best fourth shutout of the season in a 0-0 draw against Centenary and made a season-high nine saves in a 2-1 overtime loss to Colorado College. Junior defender Tom Carwile of Trinity and the Tiger defense gave up just one goal in the two victories, which started with a shutout win over Austin College. Carwile and the defense held Austin to just four total shots in the game, and he also added to the offensive effort with a goal and an assist. Austin CollegeCentenaryColorado College, and Schreiner did not nominate anyone.
