LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Four SCAC men's teams were in action this past week, including three at the prestigious Division III Golfweek Fall Invitational.
Southwestern rebounded with a one-over-par 289 team score in the third round to finish tops among SCAC competition and 13th overall with a three-round total of 900 (+48). Schreiner shot a final round 293 to move up one slot from the previous day and come in 16th at 905 (+53), while Trinity fired a third-round 305 at the par-71 Raven Golf Club course and placed 17th with a three-day total of 915 (+63).
With most of the top teams in the nation in attendance, the University of Texas-Tyler finished atop the leaderboard with a three-day team score of 854 (+2) to earn a 14-shot victory over second-place Rhodes College.
Schreiner freshman Blake Hartford added to an impressive start to his college career with a collegiate-best score of 68 in the final round and finished tied for 13th among individuals with a three-day total of 217 (+4). Southwestern's Tyler Gammill and Cade Osgood tied for 22nd place overall with 221 strokes. Trinity's top performance came from Trevor Warner who carded a 2-over par 73 on Tuesday to finish tied for 48th place with a 13-over 226 total.
The University of Dallas was also in action, finishing in 10th place at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Invite. The Crusaders improved by 16 strokes to compile a 308 on Tuesday and finished with a 632 over the two-day stretch.
Erik Hamm set a new personal best with a 73 on Tuesday, improving by one stroke in his collegiate debut at the Louisiana College Fall Invite. Hamm's season-low led all Crusaders over the tournament for both rounds and secured the freshman a tie for 15th with a 150.
