CONNOR STUBBS OF CENTRE
COLLEGE, a sophomore on the men’s lacrosse
team from Decatur, Ga., has been has been selected the SCAC
Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the
week ending March 25, 2012.
When back home in Decatur, Stubbs volunteers at
lacrosse clinics and camps and also coaches a club-level travel
team. In addition, he serves as a volunteer coach for the Decatur
high school team during the offseason.
Stubbs, who currently holds a 3.4 GPA at Centre,
was awarded the Decatur Rotary Scholarship for service in the
Decatur community for being the President of Key Club (the
volunteer organization at Decatur), president of the mentoring
program at the high school, a Special Olympics youth volunteer and
frequent volunteer for local Decatur events.
He has also spent many hours volunteering for judicial and
political campaigns throughout the DeKalb County (Ga.) area.
