In the first match, the Southwestern University women defeated Centenary College 5-0. The Pirates swept doubles to take a 3-0 lead, then followed it up with a win by Emilie Moeller in singles to clinch the match. In the second match, Schreiner battled Texas Lutheran, earning a 5-4 win. The Mountaineers came into singles play with 2-1 lead, winning at the top two spots in doubles. The Bulldogs took three singles matches, to take a 4-2 lead, but Schreiner stormed back,winning matches at Nos. 4, 5 and 6 to advance.
