JESSIE KOSTER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a senior libero from Sherwood, Oregon, has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 18th through Sunday, September 25th.
Koster continued to increase her lead in the conference with 122 digs to bring her total to 446 for the season.
Koster averaged 7.18 digs, including a 7.83-clip in the weekend SCAC cross-divisional tournament.
Koster etched her name in the school record books by breaking the career total digs mark on Sunday. She now boasts 2,472, with the previous record being 2,438.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior libero Andie Alford of Southwestern University led SU with 4.33 digs per set and 78 on the week while posting a team high 7 aces on the week. Freshman libero Anna Gurolnick of Colorado College led the team defensively with 76 digs over the weekend, averaging 19 digs a match while also leading the team with 5 service aces. Senior libero Madi McVay of Austin College had a strong weekend, leading the 'Roos to a 2-2 record at the SCAC Cross-Divisional. McVay averaged 4.62 digs-per-set, totaling 60 digs on the week while adding 11 assists. Sophomore libero Sarah Mullens of Trinity University led the Trinity volleyball team to a 4-0 record at the SCAC Cross-Divisional over the weekend, finishing with an outstanding 75 digs in the four matches, averaging 5.77 digs/set. Junior libero Mathis Popelsky of Texas Lutheran University tallied 73 total digs over four matches this weekend, with a high of 23 digs in the four-set loss to No. 3 Colorado College.
