MEGAN DUGIE OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior defensive specialist from San Antonio, Texas has been named SCAC Volleyball Defenseive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Tuesday, September 15th through Sunday, September 20th.
Dugie averaged seven digs a set as the Bulldogs went 2-1 at the SCAC Divisional Tournament in Seguin. Dugie collected 35 digs in the four-set win over Trinity. She added 11 total assists and two service aces on the week.
The Bulldogs travel to San Antonio this weekend for four more conference matches.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior defensive specialist Andie Alford of Southwestern University led the Pirates defensively to a 3-0 conference start this weekend with 50 digs at 4.55 per set. Senior defensive specialist Shannon Courtney of Trinity University finished the weekend with 40 total digs to lead the Tiger volleyball team to a 1-2 record at the SCAC Divisional in Seguin, Texas. Senior libero Rachel Fusselman of Austin College had a huge weekend as the 'Roos opened SCAC play, averaging 7.4 digs per set as the 'Roos went 2-1 over the weekend. Junior libero Jessie Koster of the University of Dallas averaged 6.54 digs per set this week, and set a season-high 31 digs in a 3-1 setback at home versus Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Senior defensive specialist Sophie Merrifield of Colorado College became only the second player in program history to earn 2,000 career digs on her second dig of the match against Austin.
