YASMEEN FARRA OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior midfielder from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played Monday, October 17th through Sunday, October 23rd. This marks the second week in a row Farra has won the award.

Farra led third-ranked Trinity to a pair of road wins over the weekend, clinching the regular season SCAC Championship outright, as well as the #1 seed for the conference tournament.

Farra netted the game-winning goal in both victories against Southwestern and Texas Lutheran, improving her season total to a team-best 5 game-winners. Farra currently leads Trinity in goal-scoring while recording a career-best 11 goals so far this season.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Mady Akers of Southwestern University scored a goal in the loss to Trinity and provided an assist the the Pirates' win against Schreiner on Sunday. Senior defender Marissa Hughes of Centenary College had a hand in every goal in a big win against Dallas that gave Centenary its first SCAC Tournament appearance in four years. She assisted on the first and third goals, gathering her own rebound for her fourth goal of the season on the second score. First-year forward Chelsea Reeh of the University of Dallas broke the SCAC and school record for goals in a single-game with 6 on Tuesday at Southwestern Adventist University. Reeh also matched a school record in points for an individual game with 12. Sophomore forward Selena Wicklund of Texas Lutheran University headed home the game-winner in the 98th minute to send the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs to a 2-1 conference home win over Schreiner. The goal vs. Schreiner was Wicklund's first collegiate goal as a Bulldog.
