CAMERON HILL OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY was voted the league’s Coach-of-the-Year.
Hill has led the Tigers to a 24-1 overall mark, a 13-1 record in SCAC play and a top 10 national ranking in both the D3hoops.com Top 25 (eight) and the WBCA Top 25 Coaches' Poll (10th) entering this weekend’s conference tournament. Trinity has won 10 consecutive games and finished the regular season with a flawless 15-0 record on its home court. The 24-1 record is the best regular season mark in school history, and is tied for the third-most single season wins for a Tiger women's basketball team. In addition, the 24 victories is a career-best for Hill, who has led the team to a program-record five consecutive 20-win seasons. Among coaches with at least five years of service in the league, he is already ninth in SCAC history for total conference wins (60) and second in conference winning percentage (.845). This marks the second time Hill has received the honor as he was SCAC COTY in his first season at Trinity in 2012-13.
Hill received six votes from his peers in earning SCAC Coach-of-the-Year honors. Michelle Filander of Austin College and Lori Morris of Southwestern received one vote each.
