Tony Calderon, Colorado College, Runner of the Week (Week 2)

Tony Calderon of Colorado College, a junior from Fort Collins, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second week in a row for his performance at the Colorado College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

Calderon placed 15 among collegiate runners and 19th overall in a field of 79 runners. Tony ran a personal course record of 27:02 for the 8K in a field of college teams composed of NCAA Division II and community colleges while leading his team to a 6th place finish. Colorado College was the only NCAA Division III school present at the meet.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

Senior Elliot Blake led Trinity to its second straight team championship to open the season as he finished in second place at the OLLU Invitational. Blake trailed just 21 seconds behind the winner, finishing at 26:39.2. Junior Caleb Calderon of Texas Lutheran endured a rain-soaked, muddy 6K course to run a PR and new school record at that distance at the largely-D2 laden meet. His time of 21:22 earned him 7th place overall.
