COLTON HAWKINS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance at the Our Lady of the Lakes Collegiate Invitational.
Colton earned his first collegiate win and finished the race in 26:25.8 in the 8k event. This time is 52 seconds faster than his last 8k time and 1:20 faster than his finish at last year's race.
The Tigers will compete this weekend at the ACU Invite in Abilene, Texas.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Joe Kilmer of the University of Dallas finished third of all DIII competition at the Hardin-Simmons Invitational. He set a new personal record best, 32 seconds faster, than his last 5k best at 16:39. Senior Blake Westbrook of Texas Lutheran University earned 14th place at the Hardin-Simmons Invitational. He finished in 16:52 on the 5k course.
