ETHAN SPILLERS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS, a freshman from Scranton, Ark., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Monday, November 29 to Sunday, December 5. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 7)
Spillers led the Eagles to a second-place finish last weekend at the Hendrix Invite, setting five school records and taking home gold in three different events. He won both the 200- and 400-yard IM in record times, hitting the wall in 1:58.55 and 4:16.40 respectively and swam a leg on the winning 400 Medley relay after leading off the quartet with a 100-yard backstroke school record time of 54.35. Spillers also set new school records in the 100-yard IM (54.20) and 200-yard backstroke (2:13.56) while taking home second-place in both events in the process.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Caleb Bush of McMurry led the Warhawks to a dual meet victory over Austin College last weekend, winning both the 100-yard free (1:02.56) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.47).
