BRENT MANDELKORN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from Frisco, Tx., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 27th through Sunday, October 2nd.
Mandelkorn led the #1 Tiger men's soccer team to a pair of 4-0 victories this weekend, as Trinity stayed atop the SCAC standings.
Mandelkorn started the weekend quietly enough, contributing an assist in Friday's win over Southwestern. On Sunday, Mandelkorn had a hand in 3 of Trinity's 4 goals against Texas Lutheran, scoring twice, and assisting on another. Included in his two goals was the eventual game-winner.
After this weekend's outburst, Mandelkorn is now the Tiger leader with six goals and 17 points, as well as leading the way with 3 game-winning goals. He has also chipped in 5 assists, which is tied for second on the team.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore forward Alan Aviles of Shreiner University helped lead the Mountaineers to a 1-1 weekend and had the game winning bicycle kick goal with :04 seconds left in 2OT for the victory over TLU. His goal was named #5 top play of the day with ESPN. Senior forward Barton Holdridge of the University of Dallas scored 2 goals, including the gamewinner, to help propel the Crusaders in a 4-0 shutout on Sunday over Centenary College. Holdridge etched a perfect shot on goal percentage with four total attempts on the weekend. Sophomore Phillip Le of Austin College had another big week, with 2 goals to lift his season total to 11. He scored twice last week as the 'Roos went 1-1, getting a game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Dallas and adding a goal in a 2-1 loss to Colorado College. Sophomore forward Jake Swonke of Southwestern University scored 2 goals in less than two minutes to bring the Pirates' match against Shreiner to a tie after being down 3-0.
