THEO HOOKER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior goalkeeper from Albuquerque, New Mexico. has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Thursday, Septebmer 1st through Monday, September 5th.
Hooker stopped all eight shots in games against Concordia M'head and St. Thomas to help Colorado College post a 1-0-1 record on the road.
The two cleans sheets mark Hooker's 17th and 18th of his career, which ranks second in Colorado College history since goalkeeper stats were kept beginning in 1992. The last time CC posted back-to-back shutouts to open a season was in 1995.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore defender Levin Dyson of Austin College scored the game winner in a 1-0 victory against Spalding. Senior goal keeper Tino Gamueda of the University of Dallas starts the season 3-0 with 7 recorded saves. Senior goal keeper Rylan Whan of Centenary College recording his sixth collegiate shut out as the Gents began the season 2-0. Laurence Wyke of Trinity University led Trinity to a season-opening 2-1 victory over Hardin-Simmons on Thursday night, allowing only 10 total shots.
