McGinlay guided the second-ranked Trinity men to another SCAC title, the program’s 18th overall and 17th in the last 20 years. In his 25th season as the head coach of the Tigers, McGinlay has amassed an overall record of 418-70-29, including a mark of 22-3 this season. He is the winningest active soccer coach, by percentage, in all NCAA Divisions and fifth all-time. McGinlay, a 13-time SCAC Coach of the Year honoree, has been elected the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Regional Coach of the Year on nine occasions, including the 2014 season.
McGinlay received four votes from his peers in the COTY voting. Scott Palguta of Colorado College and David Hoffmann of Dallas split the remaining four votes.
