For the past 28 years, Dr. Glada Munt has been the life-blood of the Southwestern University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. In addition to serving as the Head Volleyball Coach for 20 years, Dr. Munt has also been involved in athletics administration for the past 14 years at Southwestern. As Assistant Director of Athletics from 1988-95 and as Director of Athletics since 1995, Southwestern's athletics programs have prospered as members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, NCAA Division III. Dr. Munt has not only provided her expertise for those at Southwestern, she has also been active at the national level in several capacities.

Among the accomplishments Dr. Munt has accumulated are: Chair of NCAA South Region for Division III Volleyball; Chair of the NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship Regional Selection Committee; NAIA National Volleyball Rater (1985-91); Member of the NAGWS Volleyball Rules Committee (1985-89); Member of the USVA Board of Directors (1984-88, Olympic Quadrennium); Member of the NAIA National Volleyball Championships Tournament Committee (1984-87); and, President of the NAIA Volleyball Coaches Association (1986-88).

Dr. Munt was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 1990 for her coaching tenure at Southwestern, and had 21 players named to various All-America teams. On nine occasions her teams qualified for the national volleyball championships, and she was selected for a coaching apprenticeship for the United States Olympic team in 1986. in addition, 100% of her student-athletes at Southwestern University have graduated provided they utilized all four years of eligibility.
