Dick Strockbine has held the position of Athletic Director at the University of Dallas since January 1995. Prior to his arrival on the Irving campus, Strockbine was Athletic Director at the University of Maine - Fort Kent.

He is a graduate of Bethany College, West Virginia, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History as well as letters in football and baseball. He later received his Master of Arts degree in International Relations from Webster University.

Strockbine is a 22 year veteran of the United States Air Force with key assignments as a Minuteman II intercontinental ballistic missile flight commander in the 564th Strategic Missile Squadron and as executive officer of the 388th Tactical Fighter Wing at Korat Air Base, Thailand and the 341st Strategic Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana. While in the service he played football at Moron Air Base, softball at Bunker Hill Air Force Base, soccer at Korat Air Base, Little Rock Air Force Base and in Bangkok while assigned to 7/13th Air Force at MACTHAI Headquarters. He also coached basketball at Bunker Hill Air Force Base and Moron Air Base.

His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Joint Service Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Small Arms Marksmanship Ribbon, Combat Readiness Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with one oak leaf cluster, Vietnam Service Ribbon with five bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with palm and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

His collegiate career includes stops at Connecticut College, Incarnate Word College, St. Mary's University in San Antonio and the University of Maine at Fort Kent. As a soccer coach he holds a 92-79-1 career record, including five wins over NCAA Division I opponents, with Heart of Texas Conference championships in 1987 and 1988 and an NAIA District 4 championship in 1987. He started the men's soccer program at Incarnate Word and the women's program at St. Mary's. He was a Heart of Texas Conference Co-Coach of the Year in 1991 and NAIA District 4 Co-Coach of the Year in 1992.

Currently he is a member in the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and the Division III Athletics Administrators Association. He is presently active as the President of the organization of NCAA Division III Independents and served a four year term as NCAA Division III representative to the Olympic Sports Liaison Committee. He also served on the DIII Management Council and on the Championships, Membership, and Nominating Committees.

A native of Port Washington, New York, he is married to the former Debra A. Dixon of Tampa, Florida. They currently live in Carrollton, Texas. The couples' four children live throughout the United States. Erich resides in Frisco, Christopher lives in Carrollton, Alexander is stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and their daughter Jennifer lives in Nashville. The couples' fifth child Richard is deceased.
