Grace Horn, Trinity University, Women's Basketball

GRACE HORN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior on the women's basketball team, has been named the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week beginning February 22, 2016.

The SCAC honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.

 

 

Horn is a member of the Trinity University Volunteer Action Committee. The service-oriented Horn is the organization’s logistics coordinator, managing the committee’s budget, as well as carrying out operations of on-campus and off-campus activities. She is also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, an upperclassmen society which recognizes students for scholarship, athletics, campus and community service, mass media, and creative and performing arts. Horn is a student staff supervisor of Trinity’s athletics events.

In the classroom, Horn is a business administration major, with a concentration in finance. She has qualified for Trinity’s Dean’s List, and the SCAC Academic Honor Roll. Horn has also been active in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She is the recipient of a Trinity President’s Scholarship, and the business-related SAP Student Recognition Award. Horn received the NASBA Center for the Public Trust Ethical Leadership Certification. NASBA promotes ethics in the field of business.

The play-maker point guard on the Tiger team is third in assists, and fifth in steals on the squad. A dependable member of the team, Horn has played in 23 of the Tigers 25 games this season.

Trinity, ranked 23rd nationally, stands at 20-5 and 10-2 in SCAC play. The Tigers are the No. 1 seed in the weekend’s Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament at hreveport, Louisiana.
