ANNA
FAREED OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a
senior guard on the women's basketball team from
Kingwood, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Character &
Community Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending
December 11, 2011.
Fareed, a Business Major with a Minor in Exercise
Science & Sports Studies, is not only an excellent basketball
player and leader on the court, off the court her stellar academics
and academic drive set her apart from the average
student-athlete.
Through her years at Southwestern, Fareed has
participated in the Southwestern Marketing Program and she
regularly participates in community service through the local
Southwestern Chapter of Operation Achievement. Aspiring to attend
law school in the fall, she also finds time to hold down a
regular job at the Law Office of Clovis Martin, Criminal Defense
Attorney.
Fareed's overall GPA of 3.6 garnered her
recognition into the Southwestern Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma - the
National College Athlete Honor Society.
