CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Aspen Young, the first Colorado College tennis player to appear in the NCAA Division III Championships in 40 years, fell in the first round on Friday to Lauryn Douglas of Bethel University, 6-2, 6-3.
Young finishes her stellar sophomore campaign with a 22-6 overall singles record, breaking the school record for most overall victories in one season, previously held by Britt Swenson with 19. Two of her teammates, Ally Lowe and Lucia Moravek, also won 22 singles matches this season.
A Niceville, Fla., product, Young became the first Tiger to compete in the NCAA Individual Championships since Laura Hoeven and Karen Reuhl in 1985.
