KATIE SANDFORT OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Coppell, Texas, has been named the SCAC Track Athlete of the Week for meets through Sunday, April 16th.
Sandfort competed at the Wichita State University KT Woodman Classic last week, running the 10,000 meter race in a time of 36:41.
This time ranks her 15th in Division III and is the best mark in the league. The time also set a new Colorado College record.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Tori Carraway of Southwestern University ran a 15.92 in the 100 hurdles, her best time this season and third best in the conference. Sophomore Ashley Myers of Texas Lutheran University finished third overall in the 200 meter dash last week, posting a time of 25.19 seconds, which sits atop the league standings. She also finished second in the 100 meter race. Senior Katie Groke of Trinity University recorded a season-best in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.98 and a lifetime best in the 200, 26.57 seconds.
