EMMA MACEACHERN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Temple, Texas, has been named the SCAC Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Monday, February 22nd through Sunday February 28th.
MacEachern placed fourth in the women's 5k with a time of 18:33.94, a new PR and the first DIII finisher in the 5k at the Trinity Open. Among the schools participating were every Division III team in the state of Texas, with the exception of UT-Tyler. A number of scholarship schools also were in the mix.
Other oustanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Briana Timourian of Southwestern University ran a personal best 1500 of 5:02.35 at the Trinity Open (outdoor) T&F meet on Saturday February 27. Brianna placed 8th overall (1st of all D-III entrants) among a mix of D-I, D-II, NAIA, JC, and unattached athletes. Freshman Clare Basil of the University of Dallas finished 13th overall in her first collegiate 1500m in 5:12.27 then later doubled up in the day placing 7th in the 800m with a 2:30.93 at the Trinity Open.
