Centre's Bachert named NGCA D3 Freshman of the Year; SCAC has Four Named All-America

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida - The National Golf Coaches Association today announced the 2008-09 student-athlete and coaches awards for Division III Women's Collegiate Golf. The SCAC had four student-athletes recognized as All-American, including Centre College's Emily Bachert who was named NGCA Division III Freshman of the Year.

Bachert was joined on the Duramed NGCA Division III All-America First Team by Southwestern teammates Emily Bartholet and Marisa Mauldin, the three-time SCAC Women's Golfer of the Year.

Stephanie Mingos of Rhodes College was selected as a Second Team All-American.

The SCAC also had nine golfers recognized as All-Region.

Joining Bachert and Mingos on the Region 2/All-Great Lakes Region team were Taylor Beatty and Nicole Garza, both of DePauw University.

Joining Bartholet and Mauldin on the Region 5/All-West Region team were Kristen Davenport and Cody Wallace, both of Southwestern, and Monica Mercado of Trinity University.
