SEANA STOIA OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a senior forward from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been named the SCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, November 27th.
Stoia had an impressive week with two double-doubles in three wins for the Crusaders. Through the trio of games, she averaged 19.3 points, nine rebounds and 1.3 assists.
Stoia began her successful stint with 21 points in a home win over Randall University. She then recorded double-doubles in both games at the Rhodes College Classic over the weekend. In the final game of the weekend, Stoia tied a career high 27 points and shot 83.3% from the field.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore forward Bryce Frank of Austin College helped the 'Roos to a 1-1 record for the week, averaging 17.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while also totaling six steals and seven assists. Sophomore guard Tori Carraway of Southwestern University averaged 13.0 points per game during a three game stretch, and added 8.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals. Senior forward Kristen Lye of Texas Lutheran University averaged a double-double for three games - 14.3 points and 11.3 rebounds - in the Bulldogs' 2-1 week. Senior guard Monica Holguin of Trinity University led the Tigers to three home victories while averaging a team-best 18.3 points per game, as well as leading the team with 7.0 rebounds per contest.
