Willie Polio, Centre College, Men's Cross Country

WILLIE POLIO OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a sophomore from Owensboro, Ky., has been selected the SCAC Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run through Saturday, September 12.

Polio had an outstanding race at the Centre Invitational this past Saturday. Polio finished in first place (his first collegiate win) in a field of Division I and NAIA schools and toured the very difficult 8000 meter course in 27:23 - which was 1 ½ minutes faster than his time at the same meet last year.

Polio led the Centre men to a first-place team finish.
