TONY CALDERON OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a freshman from Fort Collins, Colorado, has been named the SCAC Track Athlete of the Week for meets held through Sunday, April 2nd.
Calderon ran the 5k last weekend in a field of 10 non-Division III schools, posting a time of 15:34, a personal best. This time earned Calderon fifth place out of 27 competitors and now ranks second among the league.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Blair Walker of Trinity University took second overall in the 400 meter dash at the Trinity Invitational, running a season best 50.24 seconds. Freshman Josh Im of Southwestern University was the first Division III athlete to cross the finish line in the 5K at the Trinity Invitational, posting a time of 16:26.10, a personal best.
