Five SCAC Men's Soccer Student Athletes Earn Scholar All-America Honors

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Five Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer student-athletes earned spots on the United Soccer Coaches' Scholar All-America list. Earlier in the week, seven student-athletes were recognized as Scholar All-West Region selections.

Colorado College and Trinity University each had student-athletes recognized. CC was represented by Theo Hooker, Joel Frykholm and Keenan Amer and Trinity's selections included Guy Harris and Cooper Fyfe. The All-West Region selections included the same five student-athletes, along with Trinity's Kellen Reid and Colorado College's Griffin Wesley.

Harris and Fyfe led the All-Americans as first team selections, while Hooker and Frkyholm were placed on the second team and Amer earned third team honors.

To be eligible for selection, the student athlete must be nominated by his or her Head Coach and meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career
  • Start more than 50 percent of all games and be an elite player as supported by playing honors (i.e., all-conference) or contributions to the success of his/her team.
