SCAC Has 12 Named to NABC 2011-12 Honors Court
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) placed 12 men's basketball players on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2011-12 Academic Honors Court, announced on July 10.

SCAC announces Spring 2012 Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll
SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) named 1,040 student-athletes to the 2012 SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday. This year's total is the third-highest for a single period in the history of the award.

Brian Chafin, Centre College Athletics Director, Announces Retirement

Trinity brings the SCAC Presidents Trophy back to San Antonio
SUWANEE, Ga. - The symbol of conference supremacy is a 300-pound railroad bell that is awarded annually to the conference program with the best overall sports record for that particular academic year.
For a stretch of 12 years - from the early 1990s to the mid 2000s - that bell (with the exception of one year - 2000-01) resided on the campus of Trinity University.

SCAC raises $1,900 for Special Olympics at 2012 Basketball Tournament
SUWANEE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), in conjunction with Birmingham-Southern College and the BSC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, raised $1,900 at its annual men's and women's basketball tournament through the sale of autographed basketballs from the various teams competing at the event. Special Olympics was selected as the beneficiary of this year’s effort.

SUWANEE, Ga. - Buzzer beaters were the name of the game the week of January 23-29 as two league games ended in dramatic fashion. Millsaps junior guard Taylor Meades connected on a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Majors over Southwestern, 65-64. Dallas sophomore guard Joe Stephens led the Crusaders to a 64-61 win over Sewanee with his own 3-point buzzer beater.

SUWANEE, Ga. - With their 61-58 victory over visiting Trinity on Friday, Sewanee picked up its first win against the Texas Tigers since a 66-50 win over Trinity on January 9, 2004. At 10-6 overall, Sewanee's 10 wins are the most since the Purple Tigers posted 12 wins in 2004-05.

SUWANEE, Ga. - The upset of the weekend occurred on the Mountain as Sewanee took down defending Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champion Centre, 85-78. It was the Tigers' first win over the Colonels since December 3, 2005 when Sewanee earned an 81-76 win at home.

SUWANEE, Ga. - During the holiday break Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams posted a 10-13 record in non-conference action before Rhodes outlasted Millsaps 62-46 in the only conference game during the holiday break. Rhodes remains unbeaten in league play at 3-0.
